Trip to Brussels recap

Two weeks ago, I took not only my first trip to Brussels, Belgium, but my first solo trip in Europe.
Our time here is limited and I want to fit in as many places as possible. So when the bird told me he would be away on a work trip, I took advantage of those couples days with a solo trip to a new place.
I enjoyed walking around, with no particular agenda... enjoying my share of Belgian chocolate, waffles and beer.
It was a lucky coincidence I was there for the first World Cup game for Belgium. This is a picture of the celebration in the main square after they won:
During my trip, I stayed at 9 Hotel Brussels. The hotel is very close to the city's attractions and the main train station.
I loved the look and feel of the rooms. The exposed brick was so pretty!

I also took the train to Bruges for a day trip and will work on getting that recap posted soon.

    What an awesome hotel! You're so brave to go there by yourself! Did you have any issues with the language barrier? Looks like it was an awesome trip!!

    can't wait for the Bruges recap! I was considering adding Bruges to our Europe itinerary, so yay! I love my husband but a solo trip, even for a day or two, sounds pretty fabulous! You take amazing photos, and it looks like you had a great time! That hotel is so pretty - love the exposed brick!

    Brussels looks breathtaking - I am just in love with the architecture!! How wonderful that you were able to experience something on your own like that - major bucket list item for me!! I love the hotel and that bed looks so comfy!!

    That is what is so nice living in that part of the world. Everything is so close. And how exciting to go solo! So Carrie Bradshaw : ) I would love to do something like this one day. My friend is actually staying in London for the summer. I am so excited for her and just may visit her next there summer as she is going this 3 summers in a row for an education program.
