On one hand, I am a chick-flick kind of reader. I love all the books by Jennifer Weiner, Lauren Weisberger & Emily Giffin.
On the other hand, I am a memoir fanatic. I love intriguing true stories. Like these two books, couldn't get enough and was so interested in them!
Like I said... complete opposites!
So for this trip, I purchased one of each genre. The memoir I picked up, I finished in 2 days! It was incredible.
I'm sure you have heard the story. Her book just came out this year and it is an amazing book! I cried & laughed and felt true inspiration from reading it. Here is a great review if you're interested.
Here is the second book I picked up:
This was my fun read! And by the author of Sex and the City, it has to be good! This one I just started (because I seriously could not put down 'a stolen life'), but so far so good.

ReplyDeleteI need to pick up A Stolen Life. What she survived is amazing.
ReplyDeleteMy taste in books varies a lot too. Although my two favorites are Pride and Prejudice and Gone with the Wind. I read them over and over.
I love to read! I will have to check this out....I'm not really into memoirs but I will give to a try
ReplyDeleteJennifer Weiner is one of my favorite fun reads! A friend has offered to let me borrow the Jaycee Dugard book, but I'm nervous about how heavy the story might be. I have to gear myself up for that kind of stuff.
ReplyDeletei am totally the same way about books. sometimes i need something mindless. sometimes i need something a little deeper. have you read the help? amazing. but i have to say, i loved one fifth avenue too.

ReplyDeleteLove Emily Giffin! I'm a total sucker for chick lit too, and I've read some of the other books you mentioned, but not all. So, I'll have to read them now! I also have been so amazed and in complete awe of Jaycee. I watched the special with her on 20/20, and she is definitely inspiring! I'll have to get that book too.
